FLEX
COURT® Suspended Tennis Court Surface http://www.flexcourt.com/tennis.php NOTE:
Flex Court International, Inc. and its system is what the Thermal
Belt Community Tennis Association (TBCTA) recommended to the Town of Tryon
instead of asphalt resurfacing of the Harmon Field courts.
Flex Court will greatly improve the court surfaces and stay in
great condition for many, many years while also requiring minimum
maintenance. TBCTA researched
various options and several members played on this surface prior to
recommending it. To cover
the 4 courts at Harmon Field with FLEX COURT® will cost approximately
$55,000 for materials. TBCTA is willing to provide the labor and
installation. Part of the
Town of Tryon’s current 2008 grant request to NC Parks and
Recreation includes this project. This
“matching grant”, if awarded, will provide half the funds needed. The
European-inspired FLEX COURT® Suspended Tennis Court Surface is designed
to withstand heavy, regular use over the long term, with built-in flexion,
making it the safest and healthiest tennis court surface in the world. It
delivers an excellent performance-to-price-ratio. FLEX
COURT® is the tennis court of the future. An orthopedic designed modular
(each tile is less than a foot square and interlocks with the surrounding
ones) tennis court made of proprietary space age composite materials that
create a shock absorbing effect for players of all ages. There
is a proven reduction of body shock up to 50%, which means twice the
playing time on the tennis court. FLEX COURT® also creates a great medium pace tennis court with high bounce. The court plays like a clay court, but with sure footing of a traditional hard court. Stress-free
