Chinese Pony

Names:  Chinese Pony.

Origin:  The well-known, so-called Chinese Pony, which is also found in Korea and other adjacent lands, is the same type as the Mongolian Pony.  Many animals are exported from Mongolia to China for use in racing and polo; they are known as Griffins.

Description:  Although these ponies are usually only 12.2 to 13 hands, they are very fast, and over short distances they are said to be speedier than the Arabian, and hence flat-racing is a popular sport in China.
