Horses in Azerbaijan: A Study in Pictures
The dark chestnut one is Gartal (his name used to be Gasirga and he (spent or spends) about 6 months in Lowlands of Karabakh. He is Deliboz breed). Light chestnut one has no name yet; his dad is Karabin and mum is Sahna (or Shana; not sure of the spelling). He is purebred Karabakh. Some people due to lack of information tend to think that there are no purebred Karabakh left any more, only Arab crosses, but as you can see that is not correct. Apart from his appearance, my friend checked all his lines and he is purebred Karabakh!

I believe this is Gasirga (Gartal in the above picture). I don't remember, but he may be a foal of Bagir. I'll check with my friend. The top picture is when he was in the city and not doing too well; the other is after he was given to a friend who lived in the country.

This is the Karabakh mare Shana (or Sahna; I'm still not sure which is correct), mother of the light chestnut foal above!
