Fairly common. Smaller than Black-capped Chickadee, sides paler. Has narrow gray edging on wing feathers, smaller neat bib, shorter tail. Non-migratory. Calls are faster than corresponding calls of Black-capped; whistled song is an octave higher, of 4 or 5 notes, 8 - 12 per minute.
