Theodore Baker

Born: June 3, 1851, New York, New York.

Died:  October 13, 1934, Dresden, Germany.

    Baker studied music in Germany, where he received his PhD degree at the University of Leipzig (his doctoral dissertation was on the music of the Seneca Indians). Later he worked as literary editor for the G. Schirmer Music Company (1892-1926) and wrote the Biographical Dictionary of Musicians (1900).
