Missouri

Bruner -- I live in the Missouri Ozarks.  It is hilly here, very green with lots of trees and pastures, and the second leading cattle raising area next to Texas.

We are approximately 30 miles north of Branson, Missouri, the new "Nashville", where entertainment is the main industry.  I am sure you have heard of Branson, it is well advertised.  We have many beautiful lakes close by which puts recreation high on the list for income production in the Ozarks.  There is a lot of history surrounding this area:  the supposed hiding place for Jessie James and his gang, a famous Civil War battle took place on the south area of Springfield, Mo., and that is a national park & museum.

Springfield, which is 30 miles north-west of us, is a shopping mecca, and boasts 6 major colleges.  This is the "buckle of the Bible belt", headquarters for Assembly of God (Springfield), and home to more churches that one can count.  It is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, very little crime as compared to most places, reasonable cost of housing, but low wages.

I'm not an expert on wildflowers or trees.  We have lots of beautiful Dogwood and Red Bud trees, which are so very beautiful when they bloom.  One mostly sees pasture full of the native grass, Fescue.

(P.S.--the only thing in Bruner is a post office no bigger than a postage stamp)
