The flower of this striking and variable native perennial is on a short stalk or pedicel. The firm, white petals may be up to 2 inches long and turn pink as they age. The plants are 12 - 24 inches tall. This Trillium is restricted to rich woods, usually on basic soils, in the mountains where it may be found at widely scattered localities, often in spectacular colonies.
