Hugh Stowell

Died: October 8, 1865, Pendleton, Lancashire, England.
Buried: Christ Church, Salford (near Manchester), England.
Stowell was educated at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford (BA 1822, MA 1826). He was ordained in the Anglican church in 1823, and was curate at Shepscombe, Gloucestershire; Holy Trinity, Huddersfield; and St. Stephen’s, Salford. In 1831, he became rector at Christ Church, Salford. He was appointed Honorable Canon in Chester Cathedral, 1845; chaplain to the Bishop of Manchester in 1851, and Rural Dean of Eccles.
