Let Us Break Bread Together

Traditional Negro Spiritual

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. . . And the believers were together and had everything in common. Acts 2:42, 44.

Currently, I have no information in regards to the history behind this song other than it is a Traditional Negro Spiritual.

Let us break bread together on our knees, (on our knees)
Let us break bread together on our knees. (on our knees)
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.

Let us drink wine together on our knees, (on our knees)
Let us drink wine together on our knees. (on our knees)
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.

Let us praise God together on our knees, (on our knees)
Let us praise God together on our knees. (on our knees)
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.
