Emily Elizabeth Steele Elliott

Born:  July 22, 1836, Brighton, Sussex, England.

Died:  August 3, 1897, Islington, London, England.

    Emily’s father was Edward Bishop Elliott, Rector of St. Mark’s Church in Brighton, and her aunt was hymnist Charlotte Elliott. For six years, Emily served as editor of The Church Missionary Juvenile Instructor. Her works include:

• Chimes of Consecration, 1873
• Chimes for Daily Service, 1880
• Under the Pillow, which included the second part of Chimes of Daily Service
