Airs on and above the ground: An expression used chiefly for the High School exhibitions which are carried out by the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Airs on the ground: High School movements, pas de trois, work on long reins. Airs above the ground: such movements as the courbette, capriole and levade. All-rounder: Horse or pony that is good at different things, like jumping, hunting and gymkhana games. Appaloosa: A spotted breed; the term is also used to describe any spotted coat patterning generally represented by the breed. Arabian: An ancient breed of horse from the deserts of Arabia. Arabians are known for their courage, stamina, and beauty. |
