Kentucky Saddle Pony

Names:  Kentucky Saddle Pony.  This is probably the same as the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse.

Origin:  This is a cultivated strain produced by crossing a pony mare or stallion with an American Saddle Horse.  The result is a Saddle Horse in small scale, and the ideal alternative to the Hackney Pony for showing under saddle.

Breeding:  

Description:  Its spirited bearing, highly elevated step, and refined conformation very much resemble the well-bred Hackney Pony.  Many are five-gaited.
