Have faith in God –
Inquire His will to know;
Have faith in God –
For every step you go;
Have faith in God –
You will be happy so.
Have faith, dear friend, in God.

Infant Holy, Infant Lowly

Words: Traditional carol in Spiewniczek Piesni Koscielne, 1908;
Translated from Polish to English by Edith Margaret Gellibrand Reed, 1921.

    While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7.

Infant holy, Infant lowly,
For His bed a cattle stall;
Oxen lowing, little knowing,
Christ the Babe is Lord of all.
Swift are winging angels singing,
Noels ringing, tidings bringing:
Christ the Babe is Lord of all!
Christ the Babe is Lord of all!

Flocks were sleeping, shepherds keeping
Vigil till the morning new
Saw the glory, heard the story,
Tidings of a Gospel true!
Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow,
Praises voicing, greet the morrow:
Christ the Babe was born for you!
Christ the Babe was born for you!

Infant growing, fully knowing
Why He came to earth that night.
Given to us to redeem us
From sin's condemnation blight.
Died on Cal'v'ry, pierced and bleeding,
Rose to Vict'ry! Sin defeating!
He was born to die for you!
He was born to die for you!

Savior holy, praise my soul! He
Is no longer in the hay!
He's ascended! And what's splendid,
He could claim His Bride today!
Are you ready, is your lamp bright
Burning steady, if 'twas tonight
The Redeemer comes for you?
The Redeemer comes for you!
